Looking For The Best Spa For Your Birthday Party In New York City?

Omg! Omg! Omg! Have you wondered or looked for the best spa for a birthday party in NYC? Let me share my experience and you be the judge. There are a lot of spoilers because I’m going to detail every little part of the spa birthday party that my husband arranged for me and my bestie. He works on an oil rig so often he is gone for months.

My husband had called my girlfriend to book the event as a surprise for me. He had certainly picked the right person because she is super anal about doing her due diligence. It did not hurt that this spa had 1600 Five Star Reviews on Yelp and Google and were also names the #1 day spa in New York City by the International Spa and Beauty Awards. With our interest piked, we sure wanted to see what did these guys do that people were raving about? Let me give you another spoiler alert, they did not disappoint.

Back to the birthday spa party…my husband surprised me and my girlfriend to a spa experience like no other. The lady who took our reservations was the most patient woman in the whole wide world. She booked us an Indulge Me Birthday Package. It included a hot stone massage, a Hydrafacial, a regular manicure and pedicure and Champagne, mimosas, food platter, birthday spa gifts, a sash, a tiara, a birthday card, and a selfie room that had a red throne, and multiple selfie walls.

Half the things on the list were something we were not even expecting and they surprised us with.

Everyone was super kind, super attentive and super caring.

One’s birthday comes around once a year, and it’s a special occasion. That’s one day you truly deserve the best. If you’re looking for a birthday spa party to celebrate with friends and family, look no further. These guys know how to throw a birthday party and they rock.

I had just turned 40 and the big 4 was not something I was looking forward to. I’m not a model or celebrity but I’d begun to notice that the attention I used get was not that strong anymore. Less guys were sneaking a peek while I strutted down a busy street. But if it was going to be a birthday celebration then I wanted to forget my growing age and focus on a great birthday. As soon as we walked in, within minutes we had Champagne glasses in our hands.

The ambience of the spa transports you to Hawaii. It’s a very tropical setting and you feel like you are in Hawaii. They have these TV’s on a loop showing Hawaiian beaches with sunny skies and blue waters. Immediately when you walk in you feel like you’re not in New York City anymore. You truly feel like you have been beamed to Hawaii.

While this was a spa birthday party only for two people, you felt like you were among so many more people. The technicians and therapists made you feel welcome and at home. I think they overdose you on attention in a very nice and polite way.

I received hand written birthday card with the name of every staff member that was working that day. They drew these amazing colorful flowers on the card. Something that your cousin or niece would give you. They brought out the sash and tiara and after putting it on me, led me to this room with a red throne with red curtains. Wearing the sash, and tiara sitting on the red throne for a moment you can escape reality, let your imagination run wild and feel like you’re a princess. We must have taken over 100 pictures.

The ladies at the spa brought out a birthday cake and sang “Happy Birthday” to me. A delicious strawberry short cake. If you’re interested in a birthday party at a spa, I think these people had nailed it.

Then they brought out a tray with the most amazing destination soaps. They had London, Paris, Tahiti, Sicily, Morocco, Kyoto, and Fiji. What you do is you take each soap and smell the fragrance. Then you pick out the best three out of the seven and they bring them back to you in a beautiful birthday gift bag.

They have so many subtle touches that you know they have given every little detail a ton of their attention.

I haven’t even said a word about the services. I had a Hot stone massage, a Hydrafacial, a body scrub and an mani pedi (thank you me dear husband). It was as though I was going from one beautiful experience to the other.  The team members were polite, kind and caring. You felt a sense of belongingness with the spa.

If you’re looking for an incredible yet quiet but fun birthday spa party that is both relaxing and fun, then the best birthday spa party in my book is hands down, ZZ Day Spa.
