Frequently Asked Questions
Facial Treatment FAQ’S
-
If your skin is congested with blackheads or whiteheads underneath the skin, breakouts may occur after a facial. These breakouts will not last long and commonly do not occur.
-
Facials are recommended every three to five weeks. This will allow you to maintain a healthy complexion, and your facialist will be able to monitor your skin to know which treatments are right for you. If your skin is under a lot of stress and unpredictable, more frequent visits may be recommended until your skin is repaired.
-
Regular facials can be started in a clients’ early 20s. If you are experiencing problem skin at a younger age, you are also a candidate to begin getting facials regularly. It is important for young people to educate themselves on skin care so they can treat and correct their skin concerns early on.
-
It is important to research the ingredients in your scrub, as some can harm your skin. Scrubs that include almond or apricot kernels can cause micro-tears on the face and harm your skin. Professional exfoliators used at the spa will not cause any harm to the skin.
-
There are many treatments that can be done to help with discoloration and spotting on the skin. Microdermabrasion and chemical peels remove the outermost layer of the skin and aid in fading this discoloration.
-
It is important to stick to a daily skincare routine to keep your skin clean and healthy after your facial. Your facialist can recommend products targeted toward your skin concerns to keep your face glowing after your treatment.
-
Right after your facial, you will notice softer, smoother skin. When you have specific skin concerns such as acne or aging, these concerns may not disappear completely immediately after your treatment. If you stick to a skin care routine targeted toward your concerns and get facials regularly, your skin health will continue to improve.
-
Regular facials promote healthy skin. Taking care of your skin regularly will keep it youthful and glowing, and can clear up your specific skin concerns. Your skin will maintain a supple and healthy texture as you continue to receive treatments.
Massage FAQ’S
-
A Swedish massage is the classic massage technique of the western world. This massage refers to a sequence of long, gliding strokes, kneads, and circular motions to help ease shallow tension in the muscles. Classic Swedish massage is excellent for general relaxation, relieving muscle tension, and boosting overall circulation throughout the body.
-
Deep tissue massage is a slower, more specific form of massage focused on muscle knots in the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Using deliberate, slow strokes or friction across the grain of the muscle, the therapist can address chronic tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or injuries. Deep tissue massage is best used for acute and chronic muscle tension patterns caused by overuse or prior injury. While the pressure is generally more intense, you can simply let your massage therapist know right away if you would like to reduce pressure to meet your preferences.
-
We ask that you arrive 10 minutes early to your massage to sign in and get ready for the service. If you do arrive late, your massage time will be cut short. You’ll be able to enjoy our serenity room before your massage while your masseuse prepares the room for you. You will be escorted to your room to undress and begin your massage!
-
We recommend undressing, but if that is something you are not comfortable with just let your masseuse know and undress to the most comfortable you’d like. Each massage bed includes clean linens that will cover you throughout the service.
-
We do not recommend eating too big of a meal before your service for the ultimate experience.
Manicure and Pedicure FAQ’S
-
Our salon provides single use sandals that you can wear if you did not bring your own during your pedicure.
-
If you have broken skin or a serious hand injury, it is recommended that you wait until it is fully healed before you get a manicure.
-
You cannot receive a manicure or pedicure if you have fingernail fungus. Please allow it to be fully treated and healed before coming into the spa for your service.
-
We recommend a gel manicure or pedicure for thin brittle nails. Gel polish protects the nails from the outside environment and lasts 2 weeks or longer. They are flexible and highly protective. A traditional manicure with a nail hardening top coat can also help to protect your natural nails.
-
To prevent polish from early chipping, be gentle with your nails and make sure that you are using a top coat. You can add more layers of top coat days after your manicure to make the polish last longer. For guaranteed no chipping, gel manicures are the best way to have a long lasting, beautiful manicure.

Waxing FAQ’S
-
For best results, the hair should be at least ½ inch in length. As you continue getting waxing treatments and your hair becomes finer, it can be waxed at a shorter length. We do not recommend letting your hair grow extremely long, as it can be more painful so it is recommended that you trim the hair or shave the area and wait 2-3 week for your wax. It is suggested that you avoid shaving between waxing treatments, as when you shave you stimulate hair growth and will alter the growing cycle.
-
Regularly waxing an area reduces hair growth. rather than cutting the hair like shaving, waxing removes the hair from the root. this slows down hair growth and makes the hair finer and softer when it returns. if you keep up with regular waxing treatments, less hair will grow back over time.
-
To prevent ingrown hairs, exfoliate the skin regularly to remove dead skin cells. We do not recommend exfoliating directly after your wax because the skin may be sensitive, but you should exfoliate at least 3 times per week in between your services to keep dead skin cells away from the hair follicles. We offer a fur brand ingrown concentrate available for purchase online or in the spa. This concentrate includes an all natural oil and textured finger mitt to soothe irritation and eliminate ingrowns.
-
Before your waxing appointment, we recommend that you clean and exfoliate your skin. Avoid using any oil, lotion, or gel moisturizer because these may interfere with the hair removal. Make sure that your skin is free of any wounds that could be affected by the wax. Trim your hair if it exceeds ½ inch in length.
-
This is not true, alcohol actually tightens the pores and can make your wax experience be more painful.

Lash Extension FAQ’S
-
Individual lash extensions are a semi permanent set of individual eyelashes that are glued on to the lash one at a time. We recommend that you get these extensions refilled every 2-3 weeks to maintain the best look, as our natural eyelashes fall out every 3-5 days. This procedure takes 1-2 hours depending on the style of lash you choose.
-
Eye makeup must be completely removed before your appointment. It is possible that your eyes may be sensitive to the glue, so if you experience any burning or discomfort it is important to let your lash technician know immediately.
-
If you are allergic to the glue, you may experience some burning or discomfort. Tell your lash technician immediately if this occurs. We recommend that you visit your eye doctor if you experience a reaction so your eyes can be properly treated.
-
We offer 4 different styles of lash extensions: natural look, date look, party look, and diva look. Our highly skilled technicians can evaluate which of these looks will be best on your eye shape. These styles range from 70 to 130 individual lashes per eye.

Couples Massage FAQ’S
-
Your comfort is our priority. Some couples are very comfortable being completely undressed. After you undress, you get under the towel or blanket. The therapist will always knock the door before entering. During the entire treatment, a towel or blanket will always cover your private parts. Some guests prefer to keep their under garments on and that’s perfectly fine as well.
-
Our therapists have been doing couples massages for years, so they will guide you thru the experience and make you comfortable. Feel free to address any questions you may have about the service. If you and your partner are getting your first couples massage together, of course it’s both exciting and relaxing at the same time. We encourage you both to be open about any concern you may have.
-
You may do so at the start or once the service is over. During the service the therapists move around quite a bit in the room as it’s a full body massage so it may be challenging to hold hands.
